There is no finer beginning for anyone wanting to make their first mark on the world of hair than the 30 week Sassoon Diploma course. Recognised worldwide as the ultimate in modern hair education, every one of the key cutting and colouring techniques that underpin the Sassoon philosophy will be passed on to you, the newest generation of qualified hair professionals.
The course is divided into six in-depth stages covering all of the subjects needed to provide you with a fast track to hairdressing success. The nature and content of each stage develops as you progress through the course. However, some things remain constant; personal guidance and mentoring from a Sassoon instructor throughout all work sessions; theory and practical assignments to assess your progress at regular intervals; a personal appraisal at the end of each stage to ensure you are achieving the learning goals required by Sassoon.
Note: Available to UK / Irish residents only. Students must be at least 18 years of age to apply for this course.
For your NVQ qualification you will be formally assessed throughout your course and your knowledge will be tested throughout by on-line testing.
This NVQ qualification can be very difficult for some students; a lot of practical, theory and written exams need to be completed to gain this qualification. If you are not successful for the full qualification, you will be given a certificate of accreditation towards NVQ Level 3 for the units you have attained.
No formal experience is necessary, although the learner will be required to be hard working and passionate about hair!
You will be issued with your own personal equipment which you can take with you at the end of the course. See below:

This stage will introduce you to the fundamental techniques that underpin all the subsequent stages that follow:

This stage continues the learning process and introduces new cutting and colouring disciplines:
This stage gives you access to the unique world of men’s haircutting and a continuation of women’s cutting and colouring techniques.
This exciting stage will cover the complete theory and application of abc colouring hair the Sassoon way.
This stage of 5 weeks draws together many of the skills previously learned to give you more confidence and a more complete understanding of the total role of a hair professional.
The final and possibly the most challenging stage of the 30 Week Beginners Diploma course is designed to give you the time to perfect the skills and utilise the knowledge you have gathered to prepare you for working in a salon environment.
The course finishes with a cutting exam and the graduate final show and diploma ceremony that the senior Sassoon team and your chosen guests will attend. This prestigious event requires you to work with your classmates to produce all aspects of the finale, coaching and guidance is given in theme identification, model calls, clothes styling, make-up, music and lighting.
